Can NDoc® help you be a “friend” to your Partners?

These days, you have a fairly large network of connections whether you realize it or not.  Did you ever think about how many connections you personally make on a daily basis?  The people you now have as part of your wide network of friends seems to grow every day.  These are people that you’ve known most of your life and some frankly that you barely know, but for some reason have some shared interest that will now forever link you together.  Professionally, you’ll find networks as well with colleagues, former employees, and thought leaders within your industry.  In all, you may find yourself either sharing family milestones or work accomplishments with this entire sphere of connections daily.  Meanwhile, if you are not the one sharing, it’s a guarantee you know someone out there that is sharing this information with you and 350+ of their closest friends on a daily and sometimes hourly basis.  Whether we like it or not, it is clear that being “connected” is a trend that is here to stay.  With that said, are you sure that you enjoy the same “connected” relationship with all your agency’s partners?

As noted in an Issue Brief published by The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology dated March 15, 2013,

“Sharing patient health information across providers and settings of care will be essential to achieving a more coordinated, person-centric, less costly health care system.”

The brief goes further on to note:

“As EHR adoption and interoperability requirements continue to advance in the acute care and ambulatory care sector, it will be increasingly important for LTPAC providers to adopt EHRs that have the capability of exchanging standardized clinical data with care partners such as hospitals, primary care practitioners, reference laboratories, pharmacies, and others to achieve quality outcomes and to mitigate a digital divide.”

Can you call those providers you work with on a daily basis a connected friend?  As easily as you connect with your network on social media outlets, are you exchanging important information about your business, your employees, and, most importantly, your patients with your network of partners?  If not, why not?

In the months to come, learn more about how NDoc® can help your agency “friend” your network of providers and stay connected.
